Project Slayers 2 Thunder Breathing Guide

Thunderclap and Flash, the mountain-climb trainer route, every form in the kit, and why Thunder remains an S-tier pick — everything about Thunder Breathing in Slayers 2 (plus the original Project Slayers route).

Tier: SPlaystyle: Burst / MobilityTrainer: Zentaro

Thunder Breathing is the speed demon of Project Slayers 2. Where other styles trade in sustained slashes or area control, Thunder converts positioning into damage: blink through a boss, unload a multi-flash combo, and be gone before the swing lands. That burst-first identity is exactly why it keeps landing in S tier on community tier lists — and why it rewards players with clean movement most of all.

The kit is a direct love letter to Zenitsu Agatsuma and his master Jigoro Kuwajima from Demon Slayer, which also makes it one of the most popular picks in the game. Expect company on the climb to the trainer.

How to Get Thunder Breathing in Slayers 2

The unlock follows the standard breathing flow — the real challenge is the climb.

  1. 1

Hit level 25 on the slayer path

Thunder training shares the level 25 gate with every other breathing style. Demons cannot learn it at all.

  2. 2

    Travel toward Windy Peak

The Thunder trainer, Zentaro, waits at the top of the mountain on the Verdant Cliffs side of the map. Start from the Windy Peak landmark and follow the route upward.

  3. 3

    Climb past the bear area

The trail continues upward beyond the bear area — the bears are a natural waypoint telling you that you are on the right ridge. Stamina food makes the climb painless.

  4. 4

    Pay the fee and materials

Zentaro asks for Wen plus the standard demon-hunt materials (horns and cores) before training begins. Farm boss demons on the way up — and top up with free Wen from active codes.

  5. 5

    Complete the training chain

Finish his drills and quest steps to unlock the First Form. Later forms open as you level the style, use it in combat and supply further materials.

Trainer requirements are occasionally rebalanced in updates — Zentaro's dialogue in your game always shows the live price.

Thunder Breathing Forms

The kit grows around Thunderclap and Flash and its multi-flash extensions. Form names follow the anime's numbering; unlock order and exact scaling are set in-game.

First Form: Thunderclap and Flash

The signature instant-dash strike. Your bread-and-butter opener and the first form training unlocks.

Sixfold / Eightfold

Multi-flash extensions of the First Form — consecutive dashes that stack burst on a single target.

Godspeed

The celebrated top-end variant: extreme movement and attack speed for a short window. A PvP favorite.

Thunder Swarm

An AoE discharge around you — Thunder's answer to mob packs and crowded boss arenas.

Heat Lightning / Rumble Thunder

Heavy follow-up strikes that round out the kit with raw damage once the earlier forms are mastered.

How Thunder Performs

PvP

Thunder's dashes punish every whiff. The multi-flash strings delete squishy builds before their combo starts, and Godspeed-tier mobility makes disengaging — or chasing — trivial. Weakness: against heavy-armor sustain builds you must win with tempo, not trades.

PvE & Bossing

Boss fights with long recovery animations are Thunder's playground: dash in during the opening, unload, dash out. Mob grinding is slower until Thunder Swarm arrives. Thunder carries you cleanly through the Final Selection exam and its Hand Demon finale.

Thunder Breathing in the Original Project Slayers

Playing the first game instead of the sequel? The original Thunder route is different: the trainer is Jigoro Kuwajima, found at the top of Zapiwara Mountain, and his quest chain includes meditation steps and drills around the Butterfly Mansion training area. The kit philosophy is the same — Thunderclap and Flash and its flash-stacking variants — but Slayers 2 rebuilt the trainer route, the region and the progression curve around it.

Not sure which game you are in? If you can see Zapiwara Mountain, Wop City or Sound Cave on your map, you are playing the original Project Slayers. If you see Verdant Cliffs, Windy Peak or Iceveil Valley, you are in Slayers 2. Codes also differ between the two — see our codes page for both lists.

Thunder Breathing FAQ

How do you get Thunder Breathing in Project Slayers 2?

Reach level 25 on the slayer path, then find the Thunder trainer Zentaro. From the Windy Peak side, follow the route upward past the bear area to the mountain summit; bring the Wen and materials his quest chain asks for and complete his training drills to earn your first form.

Is Thunder Breathing good in Slayers 2?

Yes — Thunder is one of the most consistent S-tier picks in the current meta. Its dashes give it the fastest burst in the game, it performs in both PvP and PvE, and it pairs well with thunder-flavored clans like Agatsuma.

What are the Thunder Breathing forms?

The kit is built around First Form: Thunderclap and Flash and its multi-flash variants (Sixfold, Eightfold, Godspeed), plus mobility and AoE forms like Thunder Swarm and Heat Lightning. Additional forms unlock as you level the style and feed it materials.

Where was the Thunder trainer in the original Project Slayers?

In the original game the trainer was Jigoro Kuwajima, found at the top of Zapiwara Mountain. His quest chain included meditation and drills around the Butterfly Mansion training area. Slayers 2 replaced Zapiwara with the new mountain route near Windy Peak.

What clan is best with Thunder Breathing?

Agatsuma is the on-theme pick for thunder builds. Otherwise any S-tier clan from the tier list — Kamado, Rengoku, Uzui — amplifies Thunder perfectly well, since clan buffs apply to every style.

Can demons use Thunder Breathing?

No. Breathing styles are slayer-only. The demon equivalent is Blood Demon Arts, unlocked after transforming with Muzan's Blood — see our demon path walkthrough for the full route.
