Every breathing style in Slayers 2 in one place — what it does, where its trainer hides, what training costs, and how each style ranks in the current tier list before you spend your Wen.
In Project Slayers 2 (now officially titled Slayers 2), your breathing style is your combat identity. It decides your combos, your range, your burst window and which clan synergies matter. There are eight styles — Water, Thunder, Wind, Flame, Stone, Insect, Serpent and Sound — each trained by a dedicated NPC hidden somewhere in the world.
Training opens at level 25 on the slayer path. Before you commit thousands of Wen and a stack of materials, scan the cards below — and check the full tier list if you care about the meta. Short on funds? Active Slayers 2 codes hand out free Wen and Spins.
Tier letters reflect the September 2026 community consensus — full methodology on the tier list page.
The all-rounder. Ten flowing forms, forgiving combos, a dash of defense. The best learning kit in the game.
Trainer: Sakonji Urokodaki — Waroru Cave
Full Water Breathing guide →Pure speed. Lightning-fast dashes and one of the highest burst ceilings in the game — a consensus top pick.
Trainer: Zentaro — mountain past the bear area, Windy Peak side
Full Thunder Breathing guide →Frequently named the best overall style: wide slashes, great range, dependable in PvP and PvE alike.
Trainer: Wind trainer — open ridges near the starter regions
See the wiki for details →Burn damage that melts bosses. Pairs beautifully with the Rengoku clan. High Wen and material costs.
Trainer: Rengu — rooftop of the great wooden house, Forgotten Ruins
Full Flame Breathing guide →Explosives and strings. Slower setup, huge payoffs, and a trainer duel you have to win to finish training.
Trainer: Sound trainer — high mountain ledge, Iceveil Valley
Full Sound Breathing guide →Whip-like, snaking attacks with excellent PvP reach. Rounds out the three most common S-tier picks with Thunder and Wind.
Trainer: Serpent trainer — one of the more remote routes
See the wiki for details →Slow, heavy, tanky. Devastating single hits but the least forgiving dodge profile — niche, not weak.
Trainer: Stone trainer — deep in the rocky highlands
See the wiki for details →Poison-stacking thrusts that reward patience. Great fun for THP (damage over time) lovers; weaker burst.
Trainer: Insect trainer — near the flower fields
See the wiki for details →The same five steps apply to every trainer — only the region, the fee and the materials change.
Quests and demon hunts in the starter regions get you there comfortably. Demons are on a separate track entirely.
Trainers charge thousands of Wen plus Demon Horns or Beast Cores. Boss demons drop materials fastest — and codes cover part of the Wen.
Every style has a fixed trainer in the world. Use the location table above; bring a mount or stamina food for the mountain climbs.
Expect a short quest chain — meditations, drills or a duel with the trainer — then the first form is yours.
Later forms unlock through use, levels and further materials. A finished kit takes days, not minutes.
| Style | Trainer | Where to Look | Known Costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water | Sakonji Urokodaki | Inside Waroru Cave | ~5,000 Wen + Demon Horns |
| Thunder | Zentaro | Top of the mountain past the bear area (Windy Peak side) | Wen + horns; long climb |
| Sound | Sound Trainer (Tengen-inspired) | High mountain ledge in Iceveil Valley | 3 Beast Cores + 10 Demon Horns + Wen |
| Flame | Rengu | Rooftop of the great wooden house, Forgotten Ruins | Highest tier of Wen + materials |
| Wind / Stone / Insect / Serpent | Style-specific trainers | Spread across the ridges, highlands and flower fields | Standard Wen + material curve |
Exact fees are adjusted in balance patches — in-game trainer dialogue always shows the live price. The original Project Slayers used different landmarks entirely (Zapiwara Mountain, Wop City, Sound Cave); legacy routes are noted inside each style's full guide.
Thunder or Serpent. Both sit in S tier for burst; Thunder rewards precise aggression, Serpent rewards spacing.
Wind or Water. Dependable, complete kits that carry you from level 25 through the Final Selection without a gear check.
Flame for burn-heavy bossing (Rengoku clan synergy), Sound for explosive showmanship, Stone or Insect for off-meta fun.
Slayers 2 has eight breathing styles: Water, Thunder, Wind, Flame, Stone, Insect, Serpent and Sound. Each has its own trainer, unlock quest and unique set of forms.
Breathing training opens at level 25 on the slayer path. You also need Wen — typically in the thousands — plus materials such as Demon Horns or Beast Cores depending on the trainer. Demons cannot learn breathing styles; they use Blood Demon Arts instead.
Water Breathing is the most forgiving starter kit, and Wind offers strong consistent damage with an easy trainer route. Thunder hits harder but demands cleaner movement. See the tier breakdown above for how each style ranks in the current meta.
Yes. The code BREATHRESET (and equivalent in-game items) resets your breathing style so you can train a different one. Codes rotate, so grab the current ones from our codes page before planning a swap.
Each trainer lives in a themed region: Urokodaki (Water) inside Waroru Cave; the Thunder trainer atop the mountain past the bear area near Windy Peak; the Sound trainer on a high ledge in Iceveil Valley; the Flame trainer in the Forgotten Ruins. The quick-reference table above lists every known route.
No. Breathing styles are exclusive to the slayer path. Demons unlock Blood Demon Arts after transforming with Muzan's Blood — our demon guide covers that route step by step.
