Urokodaki's ten forms, the Waroru Cave trainer route, training costs, and why Water is the most recommended first breathing style in Slayers 2 — with notes for original Project Slayers players.
Water Breathing is the style the game hands you a map and says "learn properly." Its ten forms cover every situation — single-target, crowd control, mobility, even recovery — with no dead slots, which is why Slayers 2 community wikis consistently place it at the top of their breathing tier lists. It will not one-shot bosses like a perfect Thunder burst, but it never leaves you without an answer either.
It is also the natural first style for players following the Demon Slayer fantasy: Urokodaki's training in Waroru Cave is one of the smoothest early-game trainer routes, and the kit scales honestly with skill rather than gear.
Water has one of the cleanest unlock routes of the eight styles.
The unified breathing gate. Questing and demon hunts around the starter regions will carry you there.
Sakonji Urokodaki trains inside Waroru Cave — the landmark carried over from the original Project Slayers, so older guides pointing at the same cave still work for orientation.
Urokodaki's fee sits around 5,000 Wen with Demon Horns on top. Boss demon farming covers the horns quickly; active codes on our codes page cover the Wen shortfall.
Expect a short chain of drills and hunts. When the chain finishes, First Form: Water Surface Slash unlocks.
Remaining forms unlock through levels, use and materials. The Tenth Form — Constant Flux — is the long-term goal that completes the build.
Fees are rebalanced occasionally — the trainer's dialogue in-game always shows the live cost. The original Project Slayers let you train Water at level 12+; Slayers 2 raised the entry to the standard level 25 gate.
Form names follow the Demon Slayer numbering the game is built on; exact unlock order and scaling are set in-game per patch.
A clean opening slash — fast, cheap, and your default damage button while the rest of the kit matures.
A spinning attack that doubles as mobility. Good for closing distance and hitting through groups.
A flowing multi-hit sequence that teaches the style's rhythm: keep moving, keep swinging.
Concurrent slashes in every direction — Water's panic button when mobs surround you.
Blessed Rain After Drought, Whirlpool, Drop Ripple Thrust and Waterfall Basin cover heals, vortex control, thrust punishes and wave-clear.
Erratic, distortion-style movement plus damage — the bridge between the mid-kit and the finale.
The dragon. A escalating finishing flow that grows in power as the combo continues — Water's signature payoff.
Ten forms mean no matchup where the kit is useless — PvP duels, mob packs, boss windows and even the Final Selection parkour all have a dedicated answer.
Water's flow rewards sustained, correct play rather than one-frame timing. Mistakes cost you damage, not the fight.
The style grows with your fundamentals — positioning, stamina and combo routing — so it stays relevant from level 25 deep into the endgame.
| Aspect | Original Project Slayers | Slayers 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Trainer | Sakonji Urokodaki | Sakonji Urokodaki (same) |
| Location | Waroru Cave | Waroru Cave (carried over) |
| Entry level | Level 12+ | Level 25 (standard gate) |
| Cost | 5,000 Wen | ~5,000 Wen + Demon Horns |
Reach level 25 as a slayer, then find Sakonji Urokodaki inside Waroru Cave. Bring roughly 5,000 Wen plus the Demon Horns his training requires, complete his quest steps, and the First Form is yours. Later forms unlock as you level the style.
Urokodaki trains students inside Waroru Cave — the same trainer and cave name carried over from the original Project Slayers, so veterans of the first game will feel at home. Enter the cave and follow it to his chamber.
Water has the most complete kit in the game: ten forms, from First Form: Water Surface Slash through the famous Tenth Form: Constant Flux. That depth is a big reason the style is rated so highly for newer players.
Yes. Community wikis and tier lists consistently rate Water in the top tier of breathing styles. It trades Thunder's spike damage for consistency, safety and a tool for every situation — the best all-round learning kit.
The original Project Slayers also trained Water with Urokodaki in Waroru Cave, at a lower entry bar (level 12+ and 5,000 Wen at the time). Slayers 2 keeps the trainer but raises training to the unified level 25 gate and adds material costs.
Water benefits from any S-tier clan — Kamado, Rengoku, Uzui and friends amplify every style. If you want on-theme flavor, a defensive or sustain-leaning clan turns Water's forgiving kit into an outright tanky duelist build.
